The rotating system, which enables the material to be regularly turned over, is a faster and easier way of producing compost. Tumbling improves mixing, aeration and moisture. It keeps the compost moist by preventing direct heat and dehydrating air from slowing down the decomposition process.
Getting Started:
· The ECOmpostertm is designed to be assembled in about 2-3 hour. The unique and patented design will allow for many years of use.
· Once the ECOmpostertm has been assembled it is very important to select a location. The location should be level and exposed to the sun for most of the day.
· Once the Unit is in place the loading procedure can begin (refer to ‘what to compost” under the Compost menu).
· Loading can be done by using either the large lids (designed for yard materials) or the smaller lids (designed for household waste).
· After each new load the ECOmpostertm should be rotated either on the optional base or by simply rolling it on the ground rotating it back on to the stand.
· Repeat this procedure until the ECOmpostertm is 2/3 loaded, it is critical to leave about a 1/3 unloaded in order for the compost material to move and mix freely and regularly.
· When the unit is 2/3 loaded it will still need to be monitored. Look under the Tips section for more detailed information.
· We recommend that even at this point the ECOmpostertm would be rotated once a day.
· The process, depending on conditions, will take 4-6 weeks to produce nutrient rich compost in most cases.
· When the process is completed you will have a dark rich looking soil that can be recycled back into potted plants, gardens, plants, or anywhere else that can benefit from nutrient rich soil.
· Another benefit of the ECOmpostertm is that due to its design it can be rolled to where you want to empty the compost.
· Once in the right location, just open up either the small or large lid and use the compost.
· Once the ECOmpostertm has been emptied you can start the process over again.
